Urgent Care

Walk-In Clinic for Urgent Medical Conditions

Urgent care is a more-affordable alternative to emergency care if the injury or illness is not life-threatening. Generally, urgent care offers the same basic services as a primary care provider. It is suitable for sudden health conditions when you can’t wait for an appointment or when other clinics are closed. We have on-site laboratory and X-ray services.

These and other symptoms are evaluated and treated:

  • Allergic reactions
  • Cuts, burns, bites
  • Eye irritation
  • Infections
  • Moderate fever
  • Painful urination
  • Rashes
  • Runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough
  • STDs (Fort Madison location only)
  • Sprains, strains, broken bones
  • Vomiting and diarrhea

Patients must be at least 6 months old at Keokuk & West Burlington locations and at least 3 months old at the Fort Madison location. Women who are pregnant should seek help from their obstetrician or nurse midwife. Urgent care providers don’t prescribe or refill pain medicine or long-term medicine. A provider at a primary care clinic or an emergency department may need to see you if you have several or complex health concerns.

Right Care, Right Place, right time

Urgent care is not the same as emergency care, because Emergency Departments handle life- threatening emergencies, but urgent care does not. However, many patients opt for urgent care as the more affordable alternative to emergency care if their injury or ailment does not threaten their life. Generally, urgent care offers the same basic services as a primary care provider and is suitable for after- hours care or for sudden health conditions when you can’t wait to book an appointment.

Payment

Patients must pay their insurance copayment or full payment before meeting with the health care provider. Coverage for urgent care services may vary by insurance provider. There is an additional fee for tests. We accept insurance, cash, credit, or debit cards.
