Foot care for people with diabetes is the topic of Great River Health’
next Red Hot Mamas program. It is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May
25, in the Blackhawk Room on the lower level of Great River Wellness Plaza,
1401 W. Agency Road, West Burlington.
People with diabetes can develop a loss of sensation and poor circulation
in their feet. This can lead to serious problems, such as diabetic ulcers
and amputation. Micki Gerdes-Boelens, D.P.M., will present the free program.
She is a podiatrist at
Great River Orthopaedic Specialists and
Great River Wound and Hyperbaric Clinic.
