Hospital, Foundation Offer Scholarships for Health Careers

The Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary and Great River Health Foundation are offering more than 15 scholarships to students pursuing careers in health care. All scholarship applications are due Friday, April 1.

The types of scholarships are below.

  • Auxiliary High School Scholarship – This scholarship is open to high school seniors and nontraditional students in the hospital’s service area.
  • Auxiliary Continuing Education Scholarship – This scholarship is for students in the hospital’s service area who are studying for health care careers and have completed their freshman year of college.
  • Kathleen Canella Family Scholarship – The Kathleen Canella Family Scholarship, offered by the Great River Health Foundation, is for students who are pursuing health care education, excluding medical school. It is open to seniors or recent graduates from Fort Madison High School, Central Lee High School, Holy Trinity High School or Keokuk High School. Nontraditional students also will be considered.
  • Tracey Howe Scholarship – The Tracey Howe Scholarship, offered by the Great River Health Foundation, is for students who are pursuing a nursing career at Southeastern Community College. It is open to students graduating from Fort Madison High School, Central Lee High School, Holy Trinity High School or Keokuk High School. Nontraditional students also will be considered.
