Stroke survivors and their caregivers are invited to participate in a program
to express their feelings about their experiences so others may understand.
The program is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, in the Blackhawk
Room on the lower level of Great River Wellness Plaza, 1401 W. Agency
Road, West Burlington.
Participants will create masks for display at Brain Injury Alliance of
Iowa events as part of the national Unmasking Brain Injury program. Its
mission is to promote awareness of the prevalence of brain injury, give
survivors a voice and the means to educate others about living with a
brain injury, and show people with disabilities deserve dignity, respect,
compassion and opportunities to prove their value.
