Great River Health has two new support groups.
Cancer support meetings
Cancer support meetings are scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. the second
Monday of every month in the Hickory Room on the Garden Level of Great
River Medical Center. Patients who have a cancer diagnosis, their families
and friends discuss concerns, gain emotional support and share information
on cancer-related topics.
There is no cost to attend. Reservations are appreciated but not required.
Please call (319) 768-3701.
Therapy group for people with debilitating illnesses
Group members learn how to understand feelings and emotions related to
their debilitating medical or mental health issues. With the support of
others, they learn new skills for coping with their illnesses and improving
their responses to life’s challenges.
Space is limited for the Debilitating Illness Therapy Group. The cost is
covered by most insurance carriers.
Weekly meetings are held on the Great River Health campus. If you
are interested in joining this group, please schedule an interview with
Rob Kerr-Willbee, LMHC. Call (319) 768-3701.
