HCHC Meets Health Needs of Area Residents

As COVID-19 numbers are on the rise, Henry County Health Center is here to care for you and your loved ones whether you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or other health issues.

Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency medical conditions that need immediate care. This includes, but is not limited to: severe allergic reactions; broken bones, fractures, dislocations; head or eye injuries; chest pain; continuous bleeding and deep or large wounds; severe shortness of breath; arm or leg weakness or pain; unconsciousness; suspected heart attack or stroke. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and need tested, Physicians & Clinics of HCHC’s four rural health clinics offer COVID-19 rapid tests. Call 319-385-6540 for a same day appointment options in New London, Wayland, Winfield and at HCHC in Mt. Pleasant. Testing requirements are:

  • Patients must be symptomatic to receive a rapid test;
  • Patients without symptoms, but who have had direct exposure to positive patients, may be given non-rapid tests;
  • Patients must be evaluated by a provider to determine need for and type of testing.

All patients at HCHC clinics are required to wear a facemask, have temperatures taken and answer screening questions. Clinic patients are allowed one visitor 18 years of age or older. Anyone under 18 is only allowed in the clinics if they are the patient with the appointment.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or if you have been exposed to COVID-19 but are unsure what resources are available near you, the Great River Health COVID-19 Call Center is available at 800-871-3313 for consultation on how to proceed, or call your primary care provider office. The Call Center is open Mondays-Fridays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
