Women who deliver their babies at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center-West Burlington have the comfort and convenience of remaining in one room for the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum experiences. Expectant mothers who have reached 34 weeks of gestation can safely deliver at the Women & Family Center.
Each of the twelve spacious private rooms has a bathroom with a jetted tub and shower, a guest sleeper chair, and a view of our campus.
A 3-bed Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is part of the Women & Family Center. Newborns who meet our NICU/Nursery parameters from outside facilities can be transferred into the unit. This provides a safe alternative for newborns needing a higher level of medical care to receive it close to home. Cesarean-section births are performed in a surgical suite at the Women & Family Center.
