Care without the commute

Telemedicine makes it easy to meet with a variety of healthcare professionals using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Whether you have general medical questions, need prescription support, want a routine follow-up with your primary care provider, or need advice on common issues like allergies or colds, virtual visits bring care to you, wherever you are.

Telemedicine services

We use virtual appointments that enable you to see a healthcare provider online through videoconferencing with a secure digital connection. This allows you to access healthcare services and manage your health remotely. The following telemedicine services are offered, unless you are required to come to the hospital for treatment:

  • Cardiology
  • Family medicine
  • Hematology and oncology
  • Internal medicine
  • Nephrology
  • Orthopedics
  • Pulmonology
  • Radiation oncology
  • Surgical specialists
  • Urology
  • Women’s health

How secure is a telemedicine visit?

We use electronic health records to communicate patient history with providers and take every precaution and meet every security standard established by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The benefits of telemedicine include improved access to medical care from home while providers review results remotely, more efficient medical evaluation and management, and the ability to consult with specialists without the need to travel. How to make an appointment

To schedule a telemedicine visit, call the clinic you wish to visit and request an appointment for a telemedicine visit with a healthcare provider. If you opt for a telephone appointment, you will receive a telephone call to begin your visit. For video consultation, log into our telemedicine app, Great River UC, a few minutes before your appointment time.

You can access Great River UC from your computer or by downloading the app to your phone from Google Play or the App Store.
