Specialized Treatments
Aquatic Therapy: Physical therapy in one of our heated therapeutic pools offers reduced weight-bearing and gentle, multidirectional water resistance in a safe, low-impact environment. Aquatic therapy can support individuals with arthritis, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, lymphedema, neurological conditions, and many other mobility challenges.
Incontinence Therapy: This specialized form of physical therapy is designed to address and treat loss of control over bladder or bowel functions by targeting the underlying causes, often related to the strength and function of the pelvic floor muscles. Incontinence physical therapy helps with bladder retraining, strengthening pelvic floor muscles, and learning to properly contract or relax overactive muscles. This therapy can help individuals facing a variety of mobility or cognitive challenges and is often beneficial following surgical events such as hysterectomy, prostatectomy, or childbirth.
Vestibular Therapy: Vestibular therapy is designed to help individuals who are experiencing frequent falls, problems with dizziness, and imbalance -- often stemming from age related balance disorders, vertigo, concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), post-stroke balance, or unsteadiness due to inner ear disorders. Our Physical therapists help patients improve their balance and activity levels.
Dry Needling: This is a physical therapy technique in which thin, sterile needles are inserted into tight or overactive muscles, called “trigger points,” to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve range of motion. Our certified physical therapists provide this specialized service, which can benefit individuals experiencing muscle pain or tightness (neck, back, shoulders, hips, etc.), sports or repetitive strain injuries, post-orthopedic surgery recovery, chronic pain conditions, limited mobility or joint stiffness due to muscle imbalances, or those who haven’t fully responded to traditional physical therapy alone.
If you’re interested in any of these physical therapy services, please speak with your provider, who can refer you to the treatments best suited to your needs.
