Henry County Health Center Swing Bed Program allows patients to transition from in-patient acute care to skilled nursing care while staying in a hospital setting. Patients receive one-to-one care in the privacy of their own room, complete with recliner, television, and private bathroom. Patients are welcome to bring any items from home to make them more comfortable during their stay.

  • Case manager
  • Dietitians
  • Patient care technicians
  • Registered nurses
  • Therapists, including speech, physical, and occupational

Admission

  • A patient is required to receive acute hospital care for at least three consecutive days before coming to the Swing Bed Program.
  • The patient must be stable and require daily skilled care or rehabilitation five days per week.
  • A physician’s authorization is required.
  • Proof of insurance is necessary before admission.
  • Patients may benefit from skilled care if they are not back to their full physical potential due to a hospital stay or if they need IV-ATB.
