The Pediatric Care Unit at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, West Burlington provides a devoted space for our young patients to recover from acute conditions. The medical team consists of dedicated pediatric hospitalists and specially trained pediatric nurses. They work closely together to support you and your child through the healing process. This twelve-bed unit also features play areas to help reduce your child’s stress while away from home and promote healing.

- Acute medical conditions requiring inpatient management
- Dehydration
- Failure to thrive
- Gastrointestinal disorders
- Infectious diseases
- Meningitis
- Postoperative recovery
- Respiratory illnesses
- Treatment of jaundice in the newborn
Admission
A patient may be admitted directly to the Pediatric Care Unit by their primary care provider or a provider in the Emergency Department.
