Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center’s Fort Madison Campus is home to a Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit. The 12-bed inpatient unit is located on the back side of the medical-surgical unit, and provides acute inpatient psychiatric care to adults age 55 and older.
Our number one priority here is to restore emotional wellness to older adults. That’s why our dedicated team of psychiatric healthcare professionals work together to renew social, physical, and mental well-being.
Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation in an emergency department to identify and treat medical conditions that may be contributing to psychiatric symptoms. If you or someone you know is experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, please go to your local emergency department or call 911.
