Great River Health presented Excellence in Practice Awards Thursday, May
17, to six employees and one physician who have shown exemplary practice
or performed specific deeds that exceed expectations to help patients,
patients’ families, coworkers, the community or their professions.
TheAdvanced Practice Award recognizes outstanding patient care, leadership and citizenship provided
by an advanced practitioner. The winner was Stephanie Hastings, CRNA,
Anesthesia. Finalists were Susan Brown, ARNP, Nephrology, and Jane Schuler,
ARNP, Palliative Care.
Clinical Excellence Award recognizes outstanding clinical care. The winner was Hilary Beaird, Athletic
Training. Finalists were Jennifer Hellman, Home Health, and Jennifer Parrott,
TheLeadership Excellence Award recognizes proven leadership skills. The winner was Desiree Stumpf, Nursing
Administration. Finalists were Lynn Hillyard, Wound and Hyperbaric, and
Renee Workman, Family Medicine.
TheNursing Excellence Award recognizes a registered nurse who provides outstanding direct patient
care. The winner was Erika Flaherty, Emergency Department. Finalists were
Katie Lingenfelter, Urology, and Samantha Tarrence, Nursing.
ThePhysician Excellence Award recognizes outstanding patient care, leadership and citizenship. The winner
was Tracy Bell, MD, Family Medicine. Finalists were Brandon Beauchamp,
DO, Emergency Department, and Souha Haydoura, MD, Medicine Specialists.
Service Excellence Award recognizes an employee who does not provide direct patient care but has
an integral role in a health-system service. The winner was Jill Bowman,
Patient Financial Services-Insurance Billing. Finalists were Nick Collett,
Day Hospital and Patient Access, and Tom Mueller, Health Fitness.
Rookie of the Year Award recognizes someone who has made an impression in his or her first two
years of employment. The winner was Kristi Green, Pharmacy. Finalists
were Karly Jones, Obstetrics, and Jenny Westerbeck, Klein Center.
