With the closing of Planned Parenthood’s clinics and offices in Burlington
at the end of this month, area providers are offering an overview of women’s
health services available in Southeast Iowa. These services include:

care services include annual examinations, birth control prescriptions,
bladder infection testing and treatment, breast examinations and mammogram
referrals, contraceptive implants, IUDs, pap smears, and sexually transmitted
infection testing and treatment. All Iowa insurances, including Medicaid
(Title 19) and Medicare are accepted.

Community Health Centers of Southeastern Iowa is a private, nonprofit,
federally qualified community health center providing quality and affordable
medical, behavioral health and dental services to underserved communities
in southeast Iowa, west-central Illinois and northern Missouri. Women’s
health care services include pregnancy testing, referral to prenatal care,
gynecological examinations, pap smears, prescription birth control, and
sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment. All insurance types
are accepted including: Iowa, Illinois and Missouri Medicaid (Title 19);
Hawk-I; Illinois Connect and standard Medicare. A sliding fee scale is
also available and is determined by household size and household income.

Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic is open Wednesday from 1:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The mission of Southeast Iowa Public Health is to improve, protect and
promote the health, the environment and well-being of residents of Des
Moines County. Des Moines County Public Health provides reproductive health
care services including condoms, sexual health education, and sexually
transmitted disease testing and treatment. Sexually transmitted disease
testing and treatment is no cost for anyone under 25 or have risk factors.
Insurance accepted are Medicare Part B, Humana, United Health Care, Blue
Cross/Blue Shield, Medicaid managed care organizations for children and
other major insurances.

and two nurse practitioners, providing comprehensive acute, chronic and
preventive medical care for people of all ages. Two women’s health
providers offer weekly appointments. Women’s health services include
gynecological care, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment,
birth control pills, IUDs (uterine), etonogestrel birth control arm implant,
medroxyprogesterone acetate birth control injection, well-woman visits,
pap smears, pelvic organ prolapse, menstrual problems, menopausal problems,
bladder infections, and new and return obstetrics visits. All Iowa insurances,
including Medicaid (Title 19) and Medicare are accepted. Some providers
accept Illinois and Missouri Medicaid. Please call ahead to verify.

and LEEP), pelvic pain, breast examinations, pap smears, sexually transmitted
infection testing and treatment, birth control pills, IUDs (uterine),
etonogestrel birth control arm implant, medroxyprogesterone acetate birth
control injection, pelvic organ prolapse, menstrual problems, bladder
infections and menopausal problems. Obstetric care includes low-risk and
high-risk pregnancy care, Centering Pregnancy, delivery and care after

infection, and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment. Insurances
accepted include most Iowa Medicaid (Amerigroup and United) and private
insurance. Medicare is not accepted.
