Laura Martin, WHNP, will discuss contraceptive needs of perimenopausal
women at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28. The fifth program in the 10-month
Red Hot Mamas series will be in the Blackhawk Room on the lower level
of Great River Wellness Plaza, 1401 W. Agency Road, West Burlington.

Perimenopause is the two- to 10-year period when menstrual cycles become
irregular and menopause symptoms begin. Fertility ends after menopause,
which is confirmed after 12 months without a menstrual cycle. Until then,
women can become pregnant.
